Seasonal Greetings from the Corporate Governance SIG

Since the AGM in September, the Corporate Governance SIG has held two well attended events.

One in collaboration with Cass Business School, on November 25th, where the topic was corporate governance and the law. An opening address by Padraig Cronin, a partner at the law firm, Slaughter and May and response by Chizu Nakajima, a Cass expert specialising in corporate law and governance, corporate social responsibility, financial services law, international law, business ethics and the control of financial crime, led to a lively debate.

The second event, held on December 5th, was a 'back to core themes' session led by Dr Nigel MacLennan, where participants discovered the varying ways in which core variables in the field of interest can be interpreted, and how to build a greater mutual understanding to inform and focus ongoing research and policy formation.

Looking ahead to 2012, SIG committee members are planning events intended to interest and engage all members - statements of your interests and suggestions are welcomed. Seasonal greetings!

Stepan Perkins
SIG Chair
