2010 Annual Review
All BAM Special Interest Groups are required to have a formal Constitution
This should be:
- Drawn up in consultation with the SIG members
- Included with the Annual Report
- Reaffirmed or revised annually, for inclusion with the Annual Report in future years.
To assist SIGs in drawing up their Constitutions, the headings below are suggested as a guide, reflecting the key features that SIG committees need to be aware of which are unlikely to change much from year to year.
Further advice on Constitution matters can be obtained from the SIG Co-ordinator in the first instance.
- Full name of Special Interest Group
- Statement of Aims and Objectives
- Membership (eligibility, termination of)
- Officers (titles of positions, roles and responsibilities, process of election, period of office, eligibility)
- Committee meetings (frequency, purpose, powers)
- General meetings (frequency, purpose, powers)
- Finances (sources of, purposes to be used for, financial year, accounts / reports, accountability)
- Amendments
- Dissolution
- Date of adoption of current version of Constitution by SIG; version number.
