If a SIG wants to change its name, it should submit a short application to the SIG Administrator for consideration by the SIG Coordination Group justifying the name change, particularly if it appears that the name change will create an overlap with existing SIGS.

The SIG Co-ordination Group will then consider the proposal to ensure that the SIG is still distinct from existing SIGS. The SIG Co-ordination Group will then pass their recommendations to the BAM Executive Committee and BAM Council who will then either formally approve or reject the application or refer the proposal back for clarification and/or amendments.
