As the leading representative body for management academics in the UK BAM is in a unique position to guide and support high-quality research relevant to the needs of managers, industry and policymakers. It provides a supporting infrastructure, a range of networks and various opportunities for researchers to connect with each other and with research users to improve our analysis and understanding of business and management in the UK and beyond.
Primary areas of research interest:
- Comparative organization studies, examining how firm structure and strategy varies by location and exploring the drivers of and the limits to internationalization
- Innovation strategies, R&D, technology and knowledge management in multinational firms, including the analysis of capability transfer between firms
- The development of innovation-related capabilities in ‘latecomer’ firms in developing and emerging economies (particularly China)
