The International Corporate Governance Society will have its 5th annual conference at Essex Business School (EBS) of the University of Essex in Colchester (England, UK). The overall theme of the conference is on developing effective corporate governance systems that are sustainable and can help prevent future crises. The conference brings together researchers investigating the role of banks and other financial firms in corporate governance, the links of corporate governance with international business and global corporate governance issues in emerging economies. The conference is also a forum to reflect on the effectiveness of recent corporate governance regulatory reforms and on the importance of the core values of business integrity and ethics in corporate governance to generate long-term stable growth.
At Essex Business School, we have a vibrant international academic community and a great location. We are easily accessible from all London airports and we are only one hour from the City of London by train. At EBS we carry out high quality research on corporate governance analysed from different perspectives and covering a range of topics and disciplines, including the banking/financial sector, international business and emerging markets. This conference provides the ideal opportunity and a stimulating forum to discuss critical topics for the future of corporate governance taking a comparative and interdisciplinary approach, building connections and future collaborations among experts working in these areas.
This event will take place from October 12-13, 2019
