___________________________________________________________________________

Description

Given the increased interconnectivity of IT systems in businesses, there is a pressing need for management practitioners and academics to better understand and manage the increased amount of data that such level of interconnectivity generates.

Drawing from past and current research, big Data/Business Analytics will be presented in terms of their opportunities and challenges. In terms of opportunities, by leveraging the benefits of big data/business analytics, better-informed managers’ decisions can help improve business performance. In terms of challenges, information overload and/or lack of sensitivity to customers’ behaviour trend changes could lead to detriment in performance. These opportunities and challenges span across multiple platforms and organizational boundaries.

Theoretical frameworks as well as practical applications will be discussed with participants. Eminent academics with many years of experience in big data/ business analytics and performance will share their latest research findings as well as help facilitate a practical hands-on workshop.
