BAM Marketing and Retail SIG Event: Publishing Scholarly Research

A common mantra of business academics is “publish or perish.” Indeed, at a large number of business schools promotion and tenure decisions are based heavily on one’s ability to publish (regularly) in academic business journals. The intent of this course/seminar is to have all interested academics (particularly Ph.D. students and new assistant professors) consider issues relating to the publishing of relevant and rigorous scholarly research in business journals.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, June 22nd 2017 from 9.00am to 4.00pm. During this time, opportunities will be provided for the audience to ask questions. A reading list covering about 20 key articles and additional optional readings will be provided. There is an expectation that the audience would spend an appropriate amount of time reading/preparing key materials prior to the seminar.

A participation fee of £25 for BAM members (Non-BAM-members: £50). There are a limited number of places available to attend the workshop. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first served-basis.

The workshop is jointly presented by the BAM SIG Marketing and Retail and the Aston Centre for Retail Insights (ACRI) and takes place in connection with the 6th Aston Marketing and Strategy Research Camp which will be held on June 23rd, 2017.

This event will take place on the 22 June, 9am to 4pm.
