BAM MKE Event - Developing Students’ Research Skills – achieving and demonstrating a key graduate attribute

Research is a common feature attributed to universities and their graduates, and common graduate attribute is of lifelong learning or research capable students. Though, are our students research capable? With assurance of learning and accreditation requirements there is increased pressure to be able to demonstrate that all graduates are achieving what might have previously been aspirational attributes. This workshop will facilitate participants’ unpacking of what research and research skills are. This forms the basis for the creation of activities to develop and practice students’ research skills, and to generate rubrics for the assessment of the skills. Overall, the goal of the workshop is to make research skills explicit, so that students and staff share a common language for their development, practice and demonstration.

This event will take place on the 2nd February 2018 from 10.00 - 15.00
