BAM MKE Conference - 'Transforming our Teaching Practice Together'

This is the first BAM conference to focus specifically on developing teaching practice. The core idea is to support innovation, the spread of best practice and the development of a supportive community of practice for those engaged in management education regardless of subject discipline.

Opportunities to share experience and learning

The aim is for every participant at the conference to have a rich learning experience and contribute through sharing practice to the learning and development of fellow participants.

Focus on practice

The interactive nature of this conference means that every participant is invited, if they wish, to share something from their practice. We will be offering ‘market place’ tables for conversations around key emergent themes as ideas are submitted. There will also be opportunities for sense-making, generating new images of what teaching will look like in the future, exploring the changing roles of teachers and students and concluding with personal action-planning. The intention is that a day full of learning and networking will support practitioners grow one or more communities of practice. The vision is to meet needs for practice development across management education in a way that is inclusive, very practical and highly engaging.

The conference will give opportunities to explore:

  • Innovative ideas from practice to support learning
  • Learning from our current practice
  • Changing roles/identities of staff and students
  • Ways to grow collective learning and capability in our contexts
  • Potential for shared learning with students
  • How students can help us transform our practice
