Description

Researchers are under increasing pressure to enhance the visibility of their research. Funding bodies require dissemination of findings, institutions are measuring impact through a broader array of channels, while visibility can be beneficial for career recognition and progress. With so many social media channels and options, it can be difficult to discern how to best navigate and manage research visibility.

This session will draw on the experiences of 3 researchers who will share their experiences of using different channels to showcase research, research centres and journal output.

Brian Harney (Dublin City University) will draw on his experiences using Linkedin, including in the context of tracking dissemination for an EU funded project.

Rebecca Hewett (Erasmus University) will speak of her experience of using LinkedIn and Twitter including as Communications Editor for Human Resource Management Journal.

Matej Černe (University of Ljubljana) will detail how he has used Instagram as a means to profile his new humanizing digital work research centre.

**This will be a joint British and Irish Academy of Management event in the spirit of encouraging further partnership and conversations amongst our academic communities.
