Call for Nominations to Serve on BAM Council - January 2018 - December 2020

21st June 2017

We would like to invite nominations from BAM members (with current membership) interested in serving on Council for a period of 3 years, starting in January 2018.

About the Role

BAM Council is an active group of elected BAM members that supports BAM Executive in its work to promote, support and foster the management research and education community for the benefits of its members. Everyone elected is expected to make a contribution. All Council members are assigned to one of the four Vice Chairs' portfolio: Special Interest Groups (SIGs), Academic Affairs of Conference & Capacity Building, Management, Knowledge and Education (MKE), and Research & Publications. The work you will carry out will vary from, for example, setting up and supporting grant schemes, organizing capacity building events or supporting SIG governance. In your role you will have opportunities for leadership and development by contributing to the delivery of the BAM vision.

We ask for commitment. You will be expected to attend Council meetings and report back on your activities. Those unable to make an active contribution are asked to step-down to make way for someone who can. Meetings are held four times each year: March, May, September (at conference) and November, and focus on the planning and supporting of activities to be carried out between meetings. Meetings are held mainly in London (with the exception of the September meeting held at Conference). We welcome enquiries from anyone who feels that they can make this commitment and who is keen to make a difference to our community.

If you are considering nominating yourself or another academic but are unsure of the commitment involved please do not hesitate to contact Lewis Johnson in the BAM office to discuss this further on 02073837770 or at ljohnson@bam.ac.uk

We very much look forward to hearing from you.
