Our Becoming an Education-Focussed Professor project was officially launched at Warwick Business School’s Shard base on 22nd February. The event attracted over 50 BAM members with an interest in exploring the nature of education-focussed scholarship. The keynote speaker was Professor Sue Rigby, Vice Chancellor of Bath Spa University who provided insights into the challenges of a Teaching & Scholarship career and the nature of excellent teaching in universities. Delegates commented on the timeliness of the project and the need to support teaching-focussed academics in business schools, particularly in defining and exemplifying excellent scholarship in this context.
The EFP project aims to promote the centrality of the scholarship of teaching and learning in business schools and to achieve parity for Teaching & Scholarship academics with research focussed academics. There will be a series of workshops in 2019 for BAM members who wish to understand the nature and modalities of scholarship and develop their own scholarship profile.
