There has been a change in editor of Gender in Management: An International Journal. I [Adelina Broadbridge] have taken over from Sandra Fielden as editor of the journal (Professor Sharon Mavin continues as consulting editor).
I would first like to take this opportunity to thank Sandra for her incredible work over the last ten years as editor and we intend to continue to build on Sandra’s good work. I am delighted that she has agreed to remain on the Editorial Advisory Board and so we are able to continue to draw on her expertise and wisdom.
Inevitably some changes will be made to the journal and over the coming months we shall be reviewing the composition of the Editorial Advisory Board and Editorial Review Board.
We continue to work hard at increasing the journal’s rating. You can help us do this by continuing to draw upon research already published in the journal in your current research and publications (cite publications from the journal in your own articles).

Submit to the journal
We would also like to encourage you to submit your excellent quality articles to the journal – there is still an opportunity for publication in the journal before the UK REF exercise. Our publication lead dates enable an excellent opportunity to publish your research early. I attach an updated submission guidelines document for you to follow. Please pay careful attention to explaining how your submission contributes to the research field of Gender in Management and Leadership, and how it progresses research areas in the journal.
Furthermore, if you have an idea for a special issue of the journal please contact me. I attach a link to a current call for submissions for a special issue and this is an excellent format on which to base any further calls for SIs. Sharon and Gina’s call for papers is on the homepage here - http://www.emeraldinsight.com/products/journals/call_for_papers.htm?id=3485
Reviews/ reviewers/ reviewers day
The journal will now include three blind reviewers for each submission. To enable this, we are looking for new reviewers. By reviewing articles you are able to keep up with the latest research and acquire a critical view of research articles.
If you would like act as a reviewer for the journal and do not already have an account, you can register at manuscript central http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/gm and click on ‘register here’ on the right-hand side of the screen. You will then automatically be granted reviewer access.
It’s very simple to register, but can I remind you to make sure that Section 3 is filled in as completely as possible (including any preference for quantitative or qualitative articles) as this will facilitate in ensuring that you are sent relevant submissions to review.
Each year, all reviewers will be listed in the final issue of the journal to note our thanks, and also it is a good way of being considered for joining the editorial review board. The GIM Special Interest Group is planning to hold a seminar dedicated to reviewing later in the academic year, and we encourage new (including doctoral students) and established academics to consider becoming a reviewer for the journal.
Gender in Management continues to publish a regular book reviews section and this is edited by Dr Marianne Tremaine of Massey University. In order to develop the section we would also like to hear from any of you who are about to become published book authors. Please email Catherine Smith (email@example.com) with the title and publication details so that we can request a review copy from the publisher.
If you have any queries or suggestions for the future running of the journal please do contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We want to reflect the views of readership in progressing our future.
