The CMCE Research Awards 2019
Invitation to submit nominations
The Centre for Management Consulting Excellence (CMCE) was established in 2017 by the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants (WCoMC), one of the Livery Companies in the City of London.
The aim of CMCE is to promote the sharing of academic research and practitioner experience within the management consulting community. To this end, the Centre this year is launching the CMCE Research Awards, with the purpose of encouraging the application of research to consultancy.
The Research Awards link the interests of both academic and practitioner communities in management consultancy.
They will promote research of relevance and value to management consultants. Management consultants will benefit from leading-edge thinking that they can apply to their work for the benefit of their clients. The research does not have to be about management consultancy itself, but should be of clear relevance to management consultancy and in 2019 the awards will be for an outstanding published paper in each of the following categories:
- • Technology and consulting: recent developments in technologies and their relevance to consultancy
- • The changing environment of the consultant: the demands that changes in society and the business environment are placing on consultants and the need for new skills to complement the consultant’s timeless ‘soft skills’ and new methodologies
- • Client-consultant relationships: issues around governance, trust, integrity, social responsibility and ethics and the implications of these for consultancy
The Awards will be presented at a conference in London on the afternoon of 12 November at Goodenough College.
Winners are expected to attend to speak as well as being presented with their award. They will be invited to give a short lecture on their paper and about the current direction of their research. Conference attendance will be open to all who are interested in management consultancy.
The conference is expected to attract an audience from among academics, practitioners, students, and users of management consultancy. It will be followed by a reception at which WCoMC will present the prestigious Urwick Cup for an outstanding research contribution.
We now invite nominations for these awards. Papers should have been published since the beginning of 2017, and can be nominated by a sponsor or by the authors themselves. Nominations, queries and interest in attending should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
