The British Academy of Management is strongly committed to its core values, which help make us the leading community for management scholars, seeking always to provide a welcoming supportive and pluralistic community of scholarship in the full field of management. As we develop our future strategy, we need to ensure that these values – in particular those of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) - are firmly and clearly embedded across all our activities. As a result, the Executive agreed earlier this year to create an additional Vice Chair role to champion this important work and make recommendations for best practice.
We am delighted to announce that Professor Martyna Sliwa, of the University of Essex Business School, received the most votes in the recent election and is duly elected to serve as Vice Chair for Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity. She will take up her role immediately in order to begin this vital work.
We all look forward to working with her to make BAM a beacon of best practice and an exemplar scholarly community.
