The University of Bristol has appointed Professor Palie Smart as Head of the School of Management, ahead of its formal launch in 2020.
Palie, who took up the role on 1st August, previously held the position of Director of Research within the Department of Management and has 20 years’ experience in management education, including various roles at the Global Top FT Ranked Cranfield School of Management.
Palie has built a substantial research profile which includes publication in numerous international journals such as Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) and Global Top 50 Financial Times (FT) Journals.
Palie said: “We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a new school that nurtures a social science and interdisciplinary approach to education and research, addressing the societal and global challenges of our times. Our mission is to create a prosperous world where a progressive understanding of management and organisation drives civic value in business, government and society.”
