Session theme: Publishing during your PhD and avoiding desk rejections
This event will seek to provide Doctoral researchers with practical insights into the academic publishing process. The event aims to highlight common pitfalls that can lead to immediate rejection. Remember, a 'no' is not the end, but the beginning of your journey!
We will be joined by Dr Derrick Boaye to discuss this and more in our latest BAM Doctoral Friday.

Dr Derrick Boakye
Dr Derrick Boakye is a lecturer in Strategic Management. His research interest is situated at the intersections of Strategy, Innovation and Organisation.
Derrik's current research focuses on generative forms of organising in times of uncertainty and change, socio-cognitive underpinnings of organisations, and creative enactment of agency through discourses and interactions/interdependencies. His (meta)theoretical persuasions includes routine dynamics, practice theory, meaning-making frames, and microstoria. He is an Associate Editor for Strategy & Leadership, and Chair of Strategy-as-practice Track at the British Academy of Management.

Payment and Cancellation Policy
Payment for the event must be received before the start date of the event concerned. Access will not be permitted to the event if full payment has not been received.

Cancellations received within 14 days of booking your place on the event will receive a full refund.

Cancellations received after the 14-day cancellation period and later than 14 days before the start date of the event will not be eligible for a refund.

Although we endeavour to run all events as advertised, BAM reserves the right to cancel any event if, for example, there are not enough people to justify running the event or if other significant unforeseen circumstances arise.
To cancel a booking a cancellation request must be submitted via your BAM Account, to do this:
- Go to your BAM Account
- Click 'My Events'
- Under 'Upcoming Events' will be the booking, please click Cancel Booking
- Follow the steps and complete the request
