MKE leads on a range of activities to advance education practice.
Education Practice Awards
These annual competitive awards reward excellence in education practice. We welcome accounts of inspiring and impactful management education practice that are informed by reflection on context and theories of learning and pedagogical development. A key underpinning tenor is that these Awards provide an opportunity for us to learn from one another’s practice in the design and facilitation of modules and courses. The competition comprises two categories: Category 1 for more experienced management education practitioners, and Category 2 for early career teaching practitioners.
The call for applications in made in early Spring each year, with a deadline in early Summer. The awards are presented at the annual BAM conference. Further information can be found on our website HERE.
BAM MKE Teaching Practice Conference
Our BAM MKE annual Teaching Practice Conference is designed to be interactive and supportive. We invite participants to share their experiences of how everyday practices of university teaching and learning impact the lives of their students and colleagues. The conference will be a supportive place to do this and learn from others.
‘Market-place’ style conversations form around key themes from the delegates’ submissions, allowing opportunities for sensemaking, exploring the changing roles of educators and students, imagining what teaching might look like in the future; also, opportunities for personal action-planning.
The learning opportunities presented through this event and the networks that you can develop through it are intended to support you as educators and as ‘academics’ to become embedded within the BAM MKE communities of practice.

BAM MKE: e-Festival of Education
Our first e-Festival of Education was held in February 2025. It brought together learned societies from Spain (ACEDE add link https://www.acede.org/en/), Italy (SIMA add link as https://societaitalianamanagement.it/en/), Ireland (IAM add link as https://iamireland.ie/ ) around the convening question of: “How can we collectively promote inclusive approaches to management education?”
