The BAM Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Conference 2026, hosted IN-PERSON by the University of Leicester School of Business, University of Leicester, serves as a premier gathering for scholars, practitioners, and doctoral students to discuss contemporary entrepreneurship practices, theories, challenges, disseminate research findings and explore synergies within the field of entrepreneurship.
This is the third BAM Entrepreneurship Special Interest Group Conference. The aim of the conference is to build on the success and to encourage and promote entrepreneurship research among academics at all levels and practitioners, entrepreneurs.
Papers in progress and complete research papers will be considered for the conference with the opportunity to receive valuable comments from the sessions facilitators and the entrepreneurship community part of the audience. This year the conference will include an Enterprise element with guest speakers from the FCA and the Chambers of Commerce.
Who should attend?
Attendees from the BAM Entrepreneurship SIG are encouraged to attend, as well as all other SIGs (e.g. Strategy) or academics who have entrepreneurship and financial management interests.

Richard Blackmore
A versatile and highly capable senior business leader with an extensive track record in policy development, stakeholder engagement and business development, Blackmore has a proven ability to develop strategic commercial partnerships, enhance membership services, and drive impactful policy initiatives. As the Director of Policy & Insight at the East Midlands Chamber, Blackmore collaborates with the Chief Executive to represent business interests and amplify the voice of business across the region.
Professor Paul Jones
Paul Jones is Professor of Entrepreneurship and at the School of Management at Swansea University, UK. Previously, he held academic posts at Coventry University, Plymouth University, and the University of South Wales.
Professor Jones undertakes research into entrepreneurship behaviour, innovation, small business management, and information communication technology adoption. Professor Jones is the Editor-in-Chief of the journals International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research, Education + Training, Associate Editor of the International Journal of Management Education and Series Editor of the Emerald book series Contemporary Issues in Entrepreneurship Research.

Dr Md Imtiaz Mostafiz (FHEA)
Dr Md Imtiaz Mostafiz is the Deputy Associate Dean of Research Excellence and Associate Professor in Strategy and International Business at the University of Leicester Business School, University of Leicester, UK. He is honoured to have received the Global Talent Award from the British Academy. Imtiaz is a Peer Review College Member of the Economics and Social Research Council – UK Research and Innovation and of the British Academy of Management. He is also the Chair of the Entrepreneurship Track at the British Academy of Management.
Imtiaz have several publications in top-tier journals in the area of international business, strategy, and entrepreneurship, such as the British Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, International Business Review, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, International Marketing Review, etc. In addition, he serve as an associate editor for the Entrepreneurship Research Journal and sits on the Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, International Marketing Review, etc. Imtiaz has also won the ‘Best Reviewer Award’ from the Journal of World Business and several Best Conference Paper Awards, such as from the Academy of International Business and the British Academy of Management.
Dr Boyka Simeonova
Dr Boyka Simeonova is an Associate Professor of Innovation at the University of Leicester. Boyka is the Director of Research for the Marketing and Strategy School at the College of Business, University of Leicester.
Boyka has published in highly-ranked organization and management journals including the Journal of the Association of Information Systems, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Information System Journal, Journal of Information Technology, Information Technology and People, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research.
Boyka has co-edited the following books: Strategic Information Management: Theory and Practice (5th ed., Routledge) and the Cambridge Handbook of Qualitative Digital Research (Cambridge University Press).
Prof. Mohamed Shaban
Prof Mohamed Shaban is currently a Professor of Finance and FinTech at the University of Leicester School of Business (ULSB).
Prof. Shaban is the Associate Dean of Enterprise in the School of Business, and is the vice president of the International Finance and Banking Society. Prior to joining academia Prof. Shaban has worked in several executive posts in Egypt.

Cancellations received after the 14-day cancellation period and later than 14 days before the start date of the event will not be eligible for a refund.

Although we endeavour to run all events as advertised, BAM reserves the right to cancel any event if, for example, there are not enough people to justify running the event or if other significant unforeseen circumstances arise. Please be aware that delegates are always responsible for ensuring their own travel and accommodation against cancellation, and the British Academy of Management is not able to reimburse anyone for these under any circumstances.
