Entrepreneurship as Practice

The session aims at extending Innovation Management to an inclusive approach involving innovation practices and social and environmental sustainability. Like any management theory, new paradigms are needed to meet the challenges ahead of societies and economies.

Webinar synopsis

Entrepreneurship is an important concept (Hitt et al., 2001, Thompson et al., 2020). However, despite (i) its maturity as a research subject, (the origins of which can be tracked back to Richard Cantillon), (ii) its importance as a driver of economic progress (Stel, Carree and Thurik, 2005), (iii) its prominence as an area of research (Hébert and Link, 1989), and (iv) a general familiarity of the term (Hébert and Link, 1989); fundamental questions regarding what it means to ‘be entrepreneurial’ still unsettled (Covin and Wales, 2019). Within this session, we shall tap into the vast experience of Dr. Inge Hill, a member of the steering group for the international  Entrepreneurship-as-practice community, as we explore the notion of entrepreneurship-as-practice as a theoretical lens for researching entrepreneurial activities and how it impacts academics.
