Professor H.J. (Rian) Drogendijk is a Full Professor of International Business at the University of Groningen.
Her research interests include the internationalisation strategies of (multinational) companies, strategic renewal and corporate entrepreneurship in multinationals, and concepts and measurements of culture and distance in an international perspective.
She has published in leading journals in the field of International Business like the Journal of International Business Studies, International Business Review and Management International Review. Rian is member of the editorial review boards of the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, and Long Range Planning.
In 2014, she was President of the European International Business Academy (EIBA) and organised its 40th Annual Conference in Uppsala. Currently she is part of the leadership of the Global Strategy interest group in the Strategic Management Society. Rian has served as Director of the MSc. programme International Business and Management (IB&M) in Groningen.
Since January 2019, she is the Director of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Groningen, with responsibility for the research master and doctoral education of the faculty.
