This online International Journal of Management Reviews (IJMR) Special Issue Launch Event will feature talks from the guest editor team, as well as keynotes from the IJMR co-editor in chief, Dr Dermot Breslin and expert in leadership, qualitative research and critical theory, Professor Mats Alvesson. The event is hosted and chaired by Dr Inge Hill (chair of the Strategy SIG) and Dr Sanne Bor (chair of the IOC-PAN SIG)
The guest editor team (Prof. Qile He, Prof. Maureen Meadows, Dr Emanuel Gomes, Prof. Duncan Angwin, and Prof. John Child) will introduce the background as well as themes of the SI; Dr Dermot Breslin will focus on IJMR nature of papers and journal requirements; Prof. Mats Alvesson will discuss about Challenging Assumptions and Problematization Approach. There will also be opportunities for Q&As and open discussion surrounding the SI and the Problematization Approach.

Dr Hill is the Associate Head Research, Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange at the Royal Agricultural University. She is a passionate academic teacher with over 25 years’ experience. She focuses on sustainable business education aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals to create responsible impact aware leaders for The Future of Work. She holds two Master’s in Education. She is a strategic influencer of enterprise entrepreneurship education since 2003 and was awarded the 2020 prestigious Management Education Practice Award for Experienced Teaching Practitioners by the British Academy of Management. A sought after speaker, her latest invite was for the Westminster Business Forum in 2021. Her teaching related publications are internationally renowned including a textbook.

Sanne Bor holds a PhD in Management and Organization. Her work focuses on collaboration among organizations, particularly in situations where collaboration is essential to solve the big challenges we meet in today's world. She works on helping organizations to collaborate better, with the aim to find fairer, wiser and better solutions to these big societal challenges. At Hanken School of Economics she works on the STN-funded CORE project, where she helps finding tools for collaborative development of solutions to environmental challenges.
At LUT she works on the STN-funded PackageHeroes project, where she focuses on finding ways for overcoming barriers to stimulate collaboration between organizations to enhance the transition from plastic to non-plastic package solutions. Her research interests also include meta-organizations, organizations of organizations, and developing theory to understand this type of organization better. Sanne is also interested in topics related to self-steering and collective decision-making more generally. Sanne has published in Management Inquiry and Administrative Science.
Currently, she serves as co-chair of the Special Interest Group on Inter-Organizational Collaboration at the British Academy of Management.

Dermot Breslin is Professor of Organizational Behaviour at Rennes School of Business, France. He has previously held faculty positions at the University of Sheffield, UK, Tor Vergata University, Italy, the University of Saarlandes, Germany and Lincoln Business School, UK. His current research focuses on evolutionary approaches in organization studies, organizational learning and creativity. Dermot has been Co Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Management Reviews since 2017, and he sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Management Studies, International Small Business Journal and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research. His research has been published in leading business and management journals including International Journal of Management Reviews, Organization Studies, Organizational Research Methods, Work Employment and Society, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, European Management Review and Studies in Higher Education. Before entering academia, Dermot worked in the steel, aluminium and paper industries, in engineering design, operations and sales management.

Maureen Meadows is Professor of Strategic Management at the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) at Coventry University. Maureen spent ten years at the Open University Business School, including five years as Head of Department for Strategy and Marketing, OUBS, and leader of the MBA module in strategic management. She was previously at Warwick Business School for thirteen years, where she directed the MSc in Management Science and Operational Research for five years.

Professor Qile He, also known as Horace, is a Professor of Strategy and Performance Management at the University of Derby, UK. He was previously a Reader in Operations Management and the Associate Head of School for Research of the School of Strategy and Leadership at Coventry University, UK, successfully leading the school research portfolio.
His research expertise and interests are in the area of interfirm alliances and partnerships, innovation strategies and processes of organizations, as well as sustainable and responsible business, and inter-organizational knowledge transfer. He has published over 80 papers in refereed journals, books, and leading international conference proceedings.

Duncan Angwin MA (Hons), PGCE, M.Phil., MBA, PhD, is the Dean of the University of Nottingham Business School in the UK. He is also Professor in Strategic Management. Prior to this position he held a named personal chair, the Sir Roland Professor of Strategic Management and was Head of Department at Lancaster University, UK. Duncan gained his PhD from Warwick Business School, which focused upon UK takeovers, and held many posts there during his 20 years tenure. Prior to his time in academia, Duncan was a senior investment banker, predominantly based in London and Paris, focusing upon corporate finance, international mergers and acquisitions transactions and strategic advice. His original degrees were from the University of Cambridge.

John Child is Emeritus Professor of Commerce at the University of Birmingham, UK, and Visiting Professor at Aalborg University, Denmark. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business and the British Academy of Management. In 2006, he was elected a Fellow of the prestigious British Academy [FBA]. He was awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards by the International Association for Chinese Management Research [IACMR] in 2012, by the British Academy of Management in 2015, and by the Academy of International Business in 2019.
