Strategy Professionals as Knowledge Workers

Strategy Professionals as Knowledge Workers

Description

Scholars researching strategy professionals have identified Strategy as one of a growing number of professions characterized by open boundaries and precarious economics.

They have also highlighted the skills exercised by certain professionals such as strategic planners as well as showing the role played by other professionals like strategy consultants in developing the profession. However, the role of strategy professionals as knowledge workers who purposively create and maintain their professional knowledge has remained under-researched.

Consequently questions relating to how new and existing strategy professionals interact to create new strategic knowledge, and maintain and share existing knowledge remain unexplored.

This webinar seeks to bring together scholars in strategic management, the sociology of the professions, and knowledge management to explore potentially promising research directions and opportunities at the nexus of strategy, professions, and knowledge work.
