Dr. Naheed Roni is a researcher at Teesside University International Business School, specializing in banking and sustainable finance research. Her research delves into the evolving landscape of sustainable financial institutions, particularly focusing on the impact of Fintech (financial technology) within the banking sector. Dr. Roni's areas of interests include ESG (environmental, social, and governance) reporting, circular economy fintech, climate finance, responsible banking practices, and the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in the banking business. Her research has been published in esteemed journals like Business Strategy and Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Cogent Business & Management. Dr. Roni is currently engaged in ongoing research projects exploring the applications of AI in the business world.

Dr Simon Smith has been working in Higher Education for nearly 20 years. He is Principal Lecturer in Business, Management and Enterprise at Oxford Brookes University.
Simon is co-Chair for the Sustainable and Responsible Business SIG at BAM and his research has developed over time to be very much focused on sustainable development, responsible management/leadership and better achieving the SDGs. He has had successes with funding, but would be the first to admit that there are many others who are much more successful in terms of amounts of money brought in and levels of success.
Simon comes at this series as someone who has had some funding success, but happy to share his experiences with a view to improve success for all involved

Dr Polina Baranova is an Associate Professor of Strategy and Sustainability and Doctor of Business Administration Programme Leader at the University of Derby. She is Co-track Chair of the Sustainable and Responsible Business Special Interest Group (SIG) at the British Academy of Management. The expertise of Dr Polina Baranova lies at the intersection of strategy, strategic management, and environmental sustainability.
Dr Baranova’s research looks into SME approaches towards environmental sustainability and the relevant environmental strategies. Her recent publications are in the area of green growth, decarbonisation and pro-environmental enterprise support. She is specialising in the development of environmental capabilities and working with a wide range of policy, business and societal stakeholders towards supporting sustainability transitions in the region and beyond. The recent publications are in the Journal of Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of British Academy, Local Economy, and International Review of Entrepreneurship.
