'Breaking down the Barriers' focuses on women entrepreneurs and aspects of women entrepreneurship, bringing together a range of stakeholders to examine current themes in this arena, including the challenges and barriers that female entrepreneurs face.
Co-presented by the BAM ENTR - Entrepreneurship Special Interest Group and Bloomsbury Institute, London, this SIG event focuses on women entrepreneurs and aspects of women entrepreneurship. It brings together a range of stakeholders to examine current themes in this arena, including the challenges and barriers that female entrepreneurs face. It will provide valuable insights, support, and resources to help current or potential female entrepreneurs to overcome obstacles, achieve their goals, and succeed in the world of business.
A range of expert speakers will be presenting individually and joining a panel discussion. There will also be time for open discussion to unpack issues of particular interest and to explore potential solutions.

Professor Anica Zeyen is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Inclusion at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, inclusion and sustainability, with particular expertise in improving economic participation and societal inclusion for disabled people. Using qualitative and co-created research methods, she has led internationally recognised research projects examining disability inclusion in entrepreneurship, work, leisure, travel and tourism.
From 2023 to December 2025, she served as Vice Dean for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the School of Business and Management, leading strategic initiatives to advance inclusive cultures and practices across education, research and organisational life. She is also a founding Co-Chair of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Working Group on Disability, Mental Health and Neurodiversity Inclusion, supporting the advancement of inclusive and responsible management education globally.
Alongside her academic work, Professor Zeyen is a disability advocate and public scholar who collaborates with community organisations, museums, policymakers and businesses to create meaningful social change. Through her research, leadership and engagement activities, she demonstrates how entrepreneurship, innovation and inclusion can contribute to more equitable and sustainable futures.
