BAM Management Consultancy Network

BAM Management Consultancy Network

The formation of this network was announced last month and there will shortly be a page on the BAM website where you can register your interest. In the meantime….

We have a close relationship with the practitioner focussed Centre for Management Consulting Excellence (CMCE) who have announced:

CMCE Virtual Showcase: Virtual consulting: how can you make it work for your consulting business?

The next CMCE Virtual Showcase will take place on 19 January and will focus on the virtualisation of management consulting and how we can make it work for our consulting practices. We are delighted to welcome as speaker for the event, Luca Collina, an International transformational business consultant and Scaleup Coach, with a background as a management consultant and project and change manager. He has recently completed an MBA in consulting with York St John University and will present the key insights from his dissertation on the topic. Read more and book your place.

Join CMCE Next Gen (on Clubhouse)

CMCE’s strategic intent is to be a recognised open and collaborative professional community for the assessment and sharing of leading and emerging practices in management consulting. We are now delighted to confirm the launch of CMCE Next Gen (on Clubhouse), a new initiative dedicated to anyone who is planning to move into our profession, is studying to become a management consultant or has just started to work as one.

Starting in early 2022, it will consist of a series of conversations hosted on Clubhouse. The initiative aims at supporting the next generation of consultants and thought leaders, and provides a platform to develop a collaborative professional community for sharing and assessing current and emerging management consulting practices. We at CMCE are particularly keen to experiment with new formats and communication channels to encourage the exploration of different topics and give all participants the opportunity to exchange their ideas and perspectives.

Find more details of this initiative here and look out for the first conversations in our December Newsletter and on our LinkedIn page.

Although we are a network, we continue to provide a focus for those who are interested in the study of management consultancy. Professor Andrew Sturdy from the University of Bristol has communicated with us as follows:

We have a great opportunity here at Bristol for someone considering a full-time PhD on management consultancy - how it might be/come 'socially responsible'.

Obviously, this might suit one of your (good) Masters students or you may be able to share the information with your networks or simply know someone who would be interested. Either way, thanks so much for anything you can do to promote it.

Sadly, there is a really tight deadline of Jan 4th, but I am happy to take email queries. Full details can be found here -https://www.bristol.ac.uk/management/study/postgraduate-research/postgraduate-research/ - and the topic is outlined below.

Funding for postgraduate research programmes | School of Management | University of Bristol

The School of Management is pleased to be able to offer four competitively awarded scholarships to outstanding PhD candidates. The scholarships are open for any research topic broadly aligned with the school research themes. Applications are now closed for October 2021 and will reopen in due time ...
