On Friday 24 February, the Knowledge Exchange Unit (KEU) are co-leading a masterclass for the Innovation Caucus on policy engagement for social science researchers, with a focus on engaging with Parliament.

This online session is on Friday 24 February 2023, 10:00-11:00 and will be taking place on Zoom.

This seminar will explore strategic engagement with policy makers to foster innovation in policymaking and scrutiny of policy. It will also explore routes for social science researchers to inform and impact policy thinking.

Speakers:

·       Sarah Chaytor (Director of Research Strategy & Policy, UCL)

·       Tash Mutebi (Social Science Adviser, POST, UK Parliament)

·       Siobhán Conway (Knowledge Exchange Manager, Knowledge Exchange Unit, UK Parliament

Participants will leave with a broad understanding of the research-policy landscape, and understanding of how, and why, UK Parliament uses research. Participants will gain an understanding of how to engage with terms of reference in select committee inquiries, and how to frame research for a policy stakeholder.

This seminar is the fourth in a series of seminars being held by the Innovation Caucus exploring themes addressed in the 2022 Innovation Caucus multi-authored book, How to Engage Policy Makers with your research.
