The International Journal of Management Reviews (IJMR) is ranked 6/323 in business journals and 7/426 in management journals, with a 2025 2-year impact factor of 13.4 and 5-year impact factor of 13.8. The journal has gone from strength to strength in recent years. IJMR is now an ABDC A* ranked journal, thus clearly positioned as one of the leading literature reviews journals. We currently have a vacancy for seven Associate Editors.
We are looking for senior academics who are familiar with literature review methodologies and ideally have experience as an Associate Editor on another journal, or who have extensive relevant reviewing experience. As a broad-based management journal, we are keen to ensure breadth of expertise across our editorial team, and would particularly welcome applicants with expertise in entrepreneurship, marketing, corporate governance, technology/IT and sustainability.
As an Associate Editor, your role would be:
- To co-ordinate the refereeing of assigned manuscripts and to make final recommendations to the Editors-in-Chief regarding manuscript publication.
- To be prepared to manage approximately 12 to 14 articles through the review process each year, some of which may not be in your primary field, although we will make every effort to match the article to the appropriate Associate Editor.
- To secure three academic referees per manuscript while being aware that securing the required three can be a challenge due to low reviewer availability.
- To seek contributions to the journal from colleagues and throughout the international academic community.
- To recommend and solicit suggestions for topics for reviews and special issues.
- To represent and promote the journal at conferences and at other professional network events, where possible.
- To commit to attending periodic journal meetings with the Editors-in-Chief, where possible.
- To develop the editorial direction and strategy for International Journal of Management Reviews with your fellow Associate Editors and the team at Wiley.
- To uphold the British Academy of Management’s standards for inclusion and research ethics.
The new Associate Editors will join our growing team with a 3-year appointment to begin in January 2027.
