New Co-Editor-in-Chief Announced for the British Journal of Management (BJM)

We are delighted to welcome Dr Soumyadeb Chowdhury from TBS Education in France as the new Co-Editor-in-Chief for our flagship journal, the British Journal of Management (BJM). Dr Chowdhury was previously an Associate Editor for BJM.

Dr Chowdhury joined Professor Shuang Ren from 1 May 2025 as the interim Co-Editor-in-Chief until 31 December 2025 and succeeds outgoing Co-Editors-in-Chief, Professor Paul Hibbert FBAM and Professor Riikka Sarala. Following the open call Dr Chowdhury has now been appointed as a Co-Editor-in-Chief from 1 January 2026.

We are ever grateful to Professor Paul Hibbert FBAM and Professor Riikka Sarala for their wonderful work.

Speaking on his appointment, Dr Chowdhury said “I am honoured to take on the role of Co-Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Management. BJM has long been a home for rigorous and impactful scholarship that crosses disciplinary boundaries. My own research journey has been deeply interdisciplinary, and I look forward to working with Professor Ren, our editorial team, BAM and the wider community to further strengthen BJM’s role as a platform for scholarship that connects ideas across domains, addresses pressing global challenges, and advances management knowledge with real-world impact.”

Dr Soumyadeb Chowdhury is Associate Professor at TBS Education in Toulouse, France. He specializes in artificial intelligence, digital sustainability and responsibility, and the applications and implications of emerging technologies across domains including operations, supply chains, human resources, and strategic management.

His expertise extends to psychometric scale development, and interdisciplinary research design and methods across varied organizational and societal contexts. Dr Chowdhury brings an outstanding blend of scholarly research excellence, large-scale, multi-country projects, editorial experience and award-winning management education.

His research has been supported by major international funding bodies including UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the British Council, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the British Academy, and the French National Research Agency (ANR). He has also partnered with global businesses and leading think tanks such as the World Economic Forum, advancing dialogue between academia, industry, and policy. His work has shaped debates on emerging technologies, the circular economy, and digital sustainability. He has consistently earned international recognition and awards for excellence and innovation.
