Register for the SIMA-SIM-BAM School of Research Methods Winter Edition on Academic Writing

We are pleased to confirm that the SIMA-SIM-BAM School of Research Methods - Winter Edition 2024 on "Academic writing" will take place from 24 to 27 January 2024 at LUMSA Palermo (Italy).

The SIMA-SIM-BAM Winter School 2024 is aimed at helping young researchers, research fellows, doctoral students and master students to understand and possibly learn "how to write" a scientific article in our disciplines. This intent is pursued by proposing the methods for drafting an article's main sections, thereby making a distinction between articles with a qualitative approach and articles with a quantitative approach.

Teaching is entirely in person, in English, and the classes are held by internationally renowned academics.

The School's Winter edition is targeted to address the following topics:

  • “HOW TO START: WRITING INTRODUCTION” (prof. Gerardo Patriotta);
  • “WRITING THE THEORETICAL BACKGROUND OF A QUALITATIVE PAPER” (prof. Giuseppe Pedeliento),
  • “METHODS AND FINDINGS OF A QUALITATIVE PAPER” (prof. Stephanie Decker),
  • “WRITING A THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK/THEORY SECTION OF A PAPER AS WELL AS THE DISCUSSION” (prof. Carmelo Cennamo),
  • “METHOD AND FINDINGS OF A QUANTITATIVE PAPER” (prof. Daniela Andreini).

The Winter Edition will also feature a most important showcase panel discussion on "Ethics of Research and Profession" with the participation of prof. Alessandro Zattoni, prof. Daniele Dalli and prof. Arabella Mocciaro li Destri.
