Successful first SIMA-SIM-BAM Research Methods Summer School held

We were delighted to be able to co-sponsor the annual methods summer school run by Società Italiana di Management (SIMA) with the Italian Academy of Marketing (SIM), to create the first SIMA-SIM-BAM summer school. This was supported by the University of Siena and took place at the beautiful and historic surroundings of Certosa di Pontignano in the magnificent Tuscan countryside in July 2023.

UK postgraduate researchers joined their Italian counterparts for an international, English-language exploration of qualitative research methods including ethnography of organisations and consumption, netnography, reflexive interviews and the Gioia approach. Dr Amanda Lee, of the University of Derby and co-Chair of BAM’s Research Methodology Special Interest Group, joined the faculty for the event.

We were delighted to see the success of the event and to be able to bring together communities of developing researchers in management and marketing from Italy and the UK, and we hope to continue this successful partnership as part of our shared activities portfolio with SIMA, our Italian sister body.
