The International Workshop Agreement 48 to develop – Framework for Implementing Environmental, Social and Governance Principles.
This was proposed by the British Standards Institution (BSI), the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) and Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and approved in March 2024 and included UN agencies involved in the UN SDGs. This is a rapid process where the process of drafting, public consultations, online meetings, and publication are completed within 10 months. The final consultation is now closed but the Framework will be published in October/ November 2024. These high-level principles framework is developed from a global multi-stakeholder process of well-over 1500 participants to support the design, adoption, and measurement of ESG programmes, policies, and initiatives at an organisational level. Given the level of interest in Sustainability across all the BAM tracks, this framework will be a significant contribution to that ESG eco-system. The initial draft sent out for consultation is available to view on this webpage .
