Two new Associate Editors sought for the British Journal of Management (BJM)

BJM is the flagship journal of the British Academy of Management and is now in its 34th volume, having been established in 1990 with David Otley as its founding editor. It is highly regarded globally, being rated as a ‘4’ in the Academic Journal Guide and ‘A’ in the ABDC list; its 2021 impact factor increased to 7.450 and its 5-year impact factor is 7.034. Its ranking continues to rise and BJM is now listed as 41/154 in Business and 48/226 in Management by Clarivate. In 2022 over 601,490 downloads of BJM articles were recorded. The journal continues to perform well and is attracting increasing submissions as one of the leading management journals.

We are recruiting two additional Associate Editors and are particularly interested in recruiting female editors and individuals from other under-represented groups in order to increase diversity in our editorial team. We are also particularly interested in hearing from individuals with skills portfolios covering some of these areas: management learning and education, strategy, sustainability and ethics. The ability to handle both qualitative and quantitative manuscripts would be welcome.

We are looking for senior academics who ideally have experience as an Associate Editor on another journal, or experience as Guest Editors for special issues in other leading journals, or who have extensive relevant reviewing experience.

The new Associate Editors will join our growing team of 16 Associate Editors with a 3-year appointment.

Please contact the Managing Editor, Emma Missen, at [email protected] if you would like to apply. Please include your CV and a covering letter explaining why you would like to be considered. The deadline for applications is 9am on Monday 11th September 2023.
