Research Methodology Co-Chair Election

Following the recent call for expressions of interest, we received one nomination of interest for the SIG Co-Chair role advertised from Profesor Viktor Dorfler. You can read Professor Dorfler's statement below:

Professor Viktor Dorfler

Institution: University of Strathclyde

Since 2007, I have attended every BAM conference and have been an active member of the Research Methodology SIG since 2009. I served on the SIG Steering Committee for several years and set up the SIG’s LinkedIn group with Marc Stierand. I presented a paper at the SIG’ sessions every year, earned two Best Paper awards and five Best Reviewer awards. I developed new methods and methodological approaches, notably my 2021 paper on Bracketing, co-authored with Marc Stierand, has already garnered approximately 300 citations. Most recently, I introduced the paradigm-candidate of “Critical Interpretivism.”

I am standing for election as I believe it is time to give back to the SIG, having benefited greatly from my involvement over the years. I am committed to supporting the continued growth of this vibrant community, fostering the development of others, ensuring the continuation of our events, and providing methodological support to doctoral students both within and outside the SIG. My background in AI will enable us to navigate the changes and challenges ahead, as AI will undoubtedly play a significant role in the field of research methodology. We can help shape its application in management and organisational scholarship in a meaningful and responsible way.
