Managing Innovation has always been a challenge for corporations – it’s a lot about human, creativity, free spirit and monitoring, uncertainty, failure and success. During the pandemic however unexpected events happened which changed the markets and the way of work. Much has been talked about remote work for decades – suddenly that was in place; long debates occurred about online business – now it’s stronger than ever. What does this mean for managing innovation under such constellations? Either nothing at all since innovation is always managing uncertainty or everything. Neither of both is true in the end. However it seems that people have changed, are more aware of uncertain events, become more focused in what they do. This might call for a revised thinking of managing the innovation process.
