Developing Critical Reflection in the Online Management Classroom

This project examines critical reflection in an online MBA classroom and emphasises the importance of dialogue in deep learning. 20 interviews were carried out with online instructors from which we identified seven emergent themes covering
understandings of what it means to be ‘critical’, encouraging student voice in an online environment, the impact of workload in this teaching model, individual differences in students, the role of the teacher/instructor, the challenges offered by working and studying in an online environment where a university is partnering with a for-profit provider and the nature of the learning environment under such conditions.
