Academy of Social Sciences (AcSS) and ESRC EDI Partnership - funding announcement for small grants
AcSS and ESRC are pleased to announce that a small scale grant funding of between £5,000 and £25,000 is available to support our member learned societies to deliver EDI initiatives and intervention. Funding applications can be submitted anytime between now and 30 October 2023 (key dates are outlined below) and a document containing key guidance relating to the grant funding process is attached, along with a copy of the funding application form.
Key dates
10 July and 11 September 2023: two online information sessions. One on the 10 July and one on the 11 September (with the possibility of more dates being added in September if required). If you have any specific questions about the application process, then you can book a 30-minute slot between 10:00am-12:00pm or 1:30pm-3:30pm on the 11 July, or between 10am-12:00pm on 11 September (more dates will be added if there appears to be a need for this) to discuss these in more detail. Those who are interested in collaboration may also wish to book a slot together, so they can begin to develop these plans further. To book a slot please email [email protected]
16 October 2023: Funding applications submitted on or before 16 October 2023 will initially be checked against the selection criteria (outlined in point 4 of the attached guidance document) by staff at AcSS. The proposers may then be asked to supply further information or clarity around certain aspects relating to the selection criteria if these have not been sufficiently covered in the application. Any applications submitted after 16 October will not be eligible for this additional support.
30 October 2023: Deadline for funding applications to be submitted.
13 and 14 November 2023: Funding review panel meet. It is anticipated that feedback on the success of individual grants will occur by the 14 November 2023.
11 December 2023: Successful applicants are expected to invoice the academy by the 11 December 2023.
6 months after funding period ends (successful bids only): grant recipients will be expected to report back on the initiatives and interventions within six months of the funding period ending (as specified in point 2 of funding guidance, we anticipate that most initiatives and interventions will last for a period of up to 12 months).
