International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM) Monthly Bulletin – October 2021

Our new Advisory Board appointed its Chair, Alain Burlaud, Emeritus Professor at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) and IFSAM president in 1997 and 1998. The General Assembly also nominated Professor Santiago Garcia Echevarrìa, Chair of Business Economy at the University of Alcalá, as a new Advisory Board member.

We were delighted to see that the book “Eastern Management” co-authored by representatives of CNEMA in our General Assembly – Prof. Chungwai So and the late Prof. Dongshui Su (founding president of CNEMA) was translated from Chinese to English. We would encourage anyone interested in indigenous management to read this fascinating text.

We have also seen more of our members successfully hold their annual conferences in October, specifically CNEMA, who held their 25th conference, and AODN.

We held a meeting of our General Assembly on 11th and 12th October.  We are grateful for the enthusiasm and commitment of our GA members as they continue to support us to develop IFSAM and its value to the business and management academic community.

With this in mind, please remember to share the soft policy statement from our General Assembly (GA) with your colleagues as we are keen that this be circulated as widely as possible. Based upon discussions during our recent webinar series, this policy statement focuses on the evaluation of management research and suggests a way forward. We hope to receive your feedback and endorsement of this statement, which can be read at:
