Post Experience Education Symposium - Expressions of Interest

Due to the circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic, the BAM Knowledge and Learning Special Interest Group and the Management Knowledge and Education Committee have decided to modify the schedule for the Post-Experience Education Symposium which would be taking place at the BAM2020 Conference at Alliance Manchester Business School. The initial call for papers for this symposium can be found here

We have decided to keep the momentum going on Post-Experience Education by creating a working group with colleagues who have been or will be involved in post-experience education in their career as academics and/or practitioners. The aim of the working group will be to kick-start the discussion on Post-Experience Education and frame the agenda for the field of Post-Experience Education. The agenda will be the basis for the Post-Experience Symposium at the BAM2021 Conference. 

The working group will meet on a monthly basis for no more than 45’ on Zoom to share experiences, materials and thoughts in an open and friendly discussion, where we can start conceptualising what Post-Experience Education means, why it is important and its role in Higher Education worldwide and the British Academy of Management. We encourage an organic, interdisciplinary development of the agenda which will allow us to think and prioritise new and disruptive thinking in the space of Post-Experience Education. For us, this reflects the space where students and researchers are enabled by rich work and life experiences and can change the ways we study and think about education, business and the world. 

To express your interest, please write to [email protected] by Friday, 17 July 2020 outlining your interest in post-experience education and how you are aiming to shape this field in the future through your practice and/or scholarship. If you have relevant experience, please feel free to include this too, even though it is not necessary. 

The times/dates of the meetings will be decided amongst the members of the working group. 

We look forward to you joining us in exploring what Post-Experience Education can mean for the academic community and its audiences, and mostly for a society that is changing in the most dynamic and catalytic ways we have seen in our lifetimes.
