Professor Pavlos Dimitratos 1967 - 2021 RIP

It is with great sorrow that we inform you about the passing-away of one of our members, Professor Pavlos Dimitratos on January 6, 2021. He was only 53 years old.

Pavlos Dimitratos was Professor of International Business at the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School. He passionately served the International Business community in various leading roles. He was the elected Chair of the Executive Board of the Academy of International Business (UK & Ireland Chapter). Previously he served as the Track Chair on International Business and International Management in the British Academy of Management (BAM) conference and on the Executive Board of the European International Business Academy (EIBA), Representative of Greece. He had been serving as member of the Advisory Board of the International Business/ International Management SIG of BAM until he passed away. 

His contribution in the areas of international entrepreneurship, international management and international strategy is impactful with more than 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 4 guest-editorials, 1 monograph, 6 edited books, more than 30 book chapters and working papers in more than 95 international conference proceedings.

Pavlos was a prolific scholar and an academic of rare character and ethos. He was kind, modest and generous to all colleagues and particularly newcomers to the International Business community. We will always remember Pavlos, his smile, kindness and sharp mind.
