Alternative Methods for Business Research

Staged jointly by the BAM Research Methodology and Marketing and Retail Special Interest Groups.

There has been a major growth in qualitative inquiry within social sciences and business research over the past three decades. The reasons for this may be that research which is mostly concerned with people, organisations and social interactions is not a good fit with positivist/scientific philosophy (which is based on quantitative survey or experiment). Increasingly, business researchers are striving to achieve a depth of understanding through qualitative research.

Staged jointly by the BAM Research Methodology and Marketing and Retail Special Interest Groups, This webinar will discuss several alternative methods to the standard interview and focus group, with which many researchers are familiar, and will consider issues around ethics and decolonisation of qualitative research.
