EDICa Final Report

Understanding the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on the career life cycle of early career academics

We are pleased to announce that the Final Report has now been published for the EDI Caucus Project - Understanding the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on the career life cycle of early career academics.

The study, carried out by Oxford Brookes University in partnership with the British Academy of Management and the UKRI EDI Caucus, examined the experiences of ECAs during and since the pandemic, asking about academics' workload, mental well-being, job-security, and management support. These insights hoped to develop recommendations on best practices to support ECAs career progression, as well create a more inclusive research and innovation environment.

The study was led by Dr Beldina Owalla, Senior Lecturer in Business and Management with co-investigators Dr Elvis Nyanzu, Research Fellow and Professor Tim Vorley, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of Oxford Brookes Business School.
