Session 3 of the BAM Wellbeing Webinar series: Developing and Maintaining Wellbeing for Business and Management Faculty and Doctoral Students
This interactive session explores how colleagues across the academic career spectrum can navigate the growing uncertainty within the higher education sector. With increasing financial pressures, shifting expectations, concerns about job security, and changing working conditions, many academics are experiencing heightened anxiety, doubt, and instability.
The session will discuss how these sector-wide changes affect different groups — including early career and more established colleagues — and what individuals, line managers, and institutions can do to provide meaningful support. The session will introduce reflective approaches to help colleagues understand their strengths, build visibility, and maintain a sense of agency in challenging times.
Participants will be invited to contribute through short interactive activities designed to surface concerns, share experiences, and identify practical strategies that can be applied in day-to-day academic life. We will also be discussing experiences and tips around research, teaching, probation, establishing social support, and career planning.
Please note: Due to the interactive and sensitive nature of these wellbeing webinars, these sessions will not be recorded.
As part of our strategic objective to promote wellbeing and positive mental health in business and management academics and doctoral researchers, we are excited to launch our series of webinars which will run monthly on Fridays 13:00 - 14:30 throughout the Academic year 25/26.
These webinars will be facilitated by Professor Sarah Robinson.
