Staged jointly by the The Birkbeck Centre for Innovation Management, The Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, The Centre for Enterprise and Innovation, and the BAM Innovation Special Interest Group.
The SIIB Conference aims at helping doctoral students and early career academics in strategy, innovation, and international business. It is run as a one-day event where these scholars can present their research, receive feedback from academic experts, gain insight into academic life, and develop effective publication strategies.
With ongoing support from the British Academy of Management; Birkbeck, University of London; the University of Manchester; and De Montfort University, the SIIB Conference proves to be a popular event for early career researchers, with past conferences bringing together about 60 to 80 researchers and senior academics from various countries.
Past keynote speakers have included Professor Mark Casson (Reading), Professor Oliver Alexy (TUM), Professor Peter Buckley (Leeds), and Professor Susan Marlow (Nottingham). In addition, the SIIB Conference benefits from academics joining panel discussions where their share their insights into academic career and research.
The Conference will feature a series of parallel sessions, where early career researchers will have the chance to present their work. In addition to this, two leading scholars in the SIIB field will deliver keynote speeches. The conference will also include two panel discussions, which will focus on such important topics as building a successful career in academia and publishing in leading academic journals.
The confirmed speakers include Professor Tim Vorley, Professor Emma Parry, Professor Andy Adcroft, and Professor Muthu de Silva.
We are pleased to invite submissions for our upcoming 5th Early Career Researchers Conference – SIIB2025. The Conference is specifically designed to support early career researchers by providing them with an opportunity to present their scientific work, receive valuable feedback from academic experts, gain insight into academic life, and develop effective publication strategies.
Our Conference is open to submissions in a wide range of topics within the SIIB field, including but not limited to: strategy and strategic management, innovation management and policy, international business, and marketing. We encourage both theoretical and empirical submissions across a range of methodological perspectives that offer new insights and contributions to existing knowledge.
As an early career researcher, participating in our Conference will provide you with an excellent platform to network with other researchers in your scientific field and gain valuable experience in presenting your study to a professional audience. Additionally, the conference will provide an opportunity for early career researchers to learn about the latest research developments and trends within the SIIB field, as well as to engage in discussions with other scholars on future research directions.
We look forward to receiving your submissions and to welcoming you to the conference!
