AI in Management Consulting showcases cutting-edge research that explores the application of AI in management consulting and its implications for the profession.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents both a major threat and a major opportunity for management consulting. In this online event, organised jointly by the BAM Management Consulting Network and the Centre for Management Consulting Excellence, we will showcase cutting-edge research that explores the application of AI in management consulting and its implications for the profession.
The event will comprise three online presentations, spread across the 6th of June. Each session will feature a presentation by the speaker followed by a question-and-answer session:
10.00 – 11.30: ‘AI in Professional Service Firms: a research study’, Professor Joe O’Mahoney. Joe will present the findings of his recent research. The session will also include a breakout period for discussion in small groups followed by a whole-audience discussion.
14.00 – 15.00: ‘Enhancing Consulting Outcomes: Business Sparks' AI-Powered Approach to Generating Innovative SME Strategies’, Dr Kos Zachos. Kos will demonstrate AI tools for consultants being developed at CebAI, the National Centre for Creativity enabled by AI at Bayes Business School.
17.00 – 18.30: ‘Building the higher order management consultancy skills needed to excel in the AI era’, Professor David V L Smith and Adam Riley MBA. The session will provide an opportunity to discuss critical skills in more detail

Dr Konstantinos Zachos is a Research Fellow at the Bayes Business School at City, University of London, where he is Chief Technology Officer of CebAI, the National Centre for Creativity enabled by AI, funded by Research England. He is also Chief Technology Officer at JECT.AI, a University spin-out.
His research interests are in the areas of computer science and creativity with a focus on designing and developing digital creativity tools to reinforce learning in creative problem solving and enhance creativity in sectors from journalism and manufacturing to social care and elite sports training.

Professor David V L Smith is a Director of DVL Smith, a leading business research and skills development consultancy. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Hertfordshire Business School. David is also the current Vice President of ESOMAR, one of the leading worldwide global Associations for marketing intelligence.
Prior to setting up his own research consultancy, David was a full time academic at the London South Bank University and a researcher at what is now the National Centre for Social Research. Prior to that, he undertook research at an agency which at that time was part of Unilever.
David is the author of several books on marketing intelligence. He has lectured on evidence based decision-making throughout the world.

Adam Riley founded insight consultancy Decision Architecture Limited in 2006. His 25-year-plus career has spanned market research agencies, client-side roles and management consultancy. Adam joined TN-AGB in the early nineties, before moving to RSL in its embryonic international research team.
After an MBA at The London Business School, he joined Samsung in South Korea, as a Global Marketing Strategist, before moving back to London and becoming a senior member of the marketing strategy practice of Monitor Company (now part of Deloitte).
