Education-focussed Scholarship Programme

We are delighted to launch the ‘Education-focussed Scholarship Programme’ for 2026, held in London (17th and 18th March and 8th December 2026), Online (11th May and 9th October 2026)

BAM’s Education-focussed Scholarship Programme will support management educators to identify and craft their scholarly academic profile for local, national and/or international impact. 

The programme comprises four workshop sessions throughout 2026 to capture, build and showcase your impact based on the findings of the British Academy of Management (BAM) White Paper that investigated Education-focussed professor promotional routes across the UK.

  • Session 1: London, British Academy of Management Office, 17th and 18th March 2026
  • Session 2: Online, 11th May 2026 
  • Session 3: Online, 9th October 2026
  • Session 4: London, British Academy of Management Office, 8th December 2026

Aims
The aims of the Education-focussed Scholarship Programme are to support management educators:

• To better understand the nature, value and impact of education-focussed scholarship

• To disseminate their education-focussed scholarship

• In their continuous professional development for career progression

• In sustaining our BAM MKE community of practice
Goals

Primary Goal: To aid participants to secure future scholarly outputs which in turn supports their career development. 

Specific Objectives: 
 
The Programme will support delegate understanding of: 
  • WHAT is nature of scholarship 
  • WHY engagement with scholarly work is important 
  • WHO you are as an Education-focussed scholar 
  • HOW you write for dissemination with impact 
  • WHERE impact may lie 
Benefits
The Education-focussed Scholarship Programme may provide delegate opportunities for contributions to:
  • BAM Impact Series Book 
  • Special Issue (Journal of Management Education) 
  • Education-focussed Podcast series 
  • Education-focussed Blog Series
As a parallel output, MKE will shape the definitions of scholarship for management education via publication.

BAM Member: £400 for all sessions.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Payment for the event must be received before the start date of the event concerned. Access will not be permitted to the event if full payment has not been received. 

Cancellations 

  • Cancellations received within 14 days of booking your place on the event will receive a full refund. 

  • Cancellations received after the 14-day cancellation period and later than 14 days before the start date of the event will not be eligible for a refund.  

  • Although we endeavour to run all events as advertised, BAM reserves the right to cancel any event if, for example, there are not enough people to justify running the event or if other significant unforeseen circumstances arise. Please be aware that delegates are always responsible for ensuring their own travel and accommodation against cancellation, and the British Academy of Management is not able to reimburse anyone for these under any circumstances.  

To cancel a booking a cancellation request must be submitted via your BAM Account, to do this:

  • Go to your BAM Account
  • Click 'My Events'
  • Under 'Upcoming Events' will be the booking, please click Cancel Booking
  • Follow the steps and complete the request
