Open, Online and Distance Education – The better option in the current Crisis?

Open, Online and Distance Education – The better option in the current Crisis?

Description

The Coronavirus crisis is deeply impacting teaching and higher education throughout the world. As universities struggle to move lectures and student support online, innovative concepts such as open, online and distance education are frequently being discussed in the academic world and the general public. Although these approaches have been existing for some time they are only rarely applied at many universities. As many countries are facing recessions, lifelong learning and further education could be used more widely and be of increasing relevance. This makes considering alternative education and teaching strategies even more important. In this webinar, the opportunities of open, digital and online education and their impact on learning, teaching and doing research will be discussed, as balanced concepts such as blended learning must be implemented depending on the context.
