BAM Leadership and Leadership Development SIG Newsletter

Thanks very much for your commitment and support to our SIG during the course of the year. It has been an action-packed year. The event we organised on the 29th of April was a success and had a record attendance and we still have more to come!

  1. Post-Experience Education – Paper Development Workshop

The Leadership and Leadership Development SIG, Management, Knowledge and Education and Knowledge and Learning SIG will be organising a paper development workshop on post-experience education. In this paper development workshop, you will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with the authors of the papers that will frame the upcoming Symposium on Post-Experience Education at the BAM Conference 2021.

  1. On the idea of what constitutes good systematic literature review and non-probability sampling

The Leadership and Leadership Development SIG and ISBE will be organising a Doctoral Consortium. This workshop is designed to support our community of doctoral students in spotlighting good practice in doctoral research.

Furthermore, registration for the 35th Annual British Academy of Management conference is now available online. Thanks to everyone who was able to submit papers for the conference. The final paper submission site is NOW OPEN and the deadline to submit your accepted papers is Wednesday 30th June 23.59 BST. We hope to see you from the 31st of August -3rd of September virtually.

Our SIG had the privilege to be the forerunner on the SIG Spotlight by BAM. This is a new monthly feature which provides an opportunity for SIG Chairs to give an insight into running a SIG, how members can benefit from the activities and how others can get involved.

Achievements

Congratulations to Will Foster, a very vibrant member of our SIG who has recently been promoted to Professor of Leadership ✨✨✨✨✨. Well done Will!

Brief Bio: Will Foster is Professor of Leadership and Director of MBA and Executive Programmes with Keele Business School. Prior to joining Higher Education, Will had a rich career in the commercial sector including nine years as a senior consultant working with a diverse range of clients from CEOs and Directors of global corporates to local SME business owners. For the past 15 years he has also served as a volunteer Director on various charitable boards. Will is Principal Fellow of the HEA and a member of BAM’s leadership special interest group.
