We are delighted to see that Professor Stephanie Decker, BAM's co Vice-Chair for Research and Publications, has been conferred with Fellowship of the Academy of Social Sciences in recognition of her contribution to social science. As well as excellence in research and professional use of social science, Fellows of the AcSS have also made significant contributions beyond the academy, including to industry, policy and higher education.

The Academy of Social Sciences is the national academy of academics, practitioners and learned societies in social science. The sector’s leading independent voice in the UK, it champions the vital role social sciences play in education, government and business.

The Academy’s distinguished Fellowship comprises 1,500 leading social scientists from academia, the public, private and third sectors. AcSS Fellows’ expertise covers the breadth of the social sciences, and their practice and research addresses some of the major challenges facing communities, society, places and economies.
