Interest in identity and identity work to understand organizational dynamics in management research has proliferated in recent years. Although the underpinning methods have become more diverse, the extant research remains dominated by a restricted methodological portfolio that limits breakthroughs in current knowledge. Responding to this need for methodological diversity and innovation, the Handbook of Research Methods for Studying Identity In and Around Organisations brings together both established and more emerging qualitative methods in identity research enabling researchers to broaden their methodological spectrum and advance knowledge about identity in different ways.
The aim of this webinar is two-fold:
(1) To introduce The Handbook of Research Methods for Studying Identity In and Around Organisations to give delegates an overview of the range of different methods available; and
(2) To delve deeper into a selected number of novel, innovative and currently underrepresented research methods providing practical insights for delegates regarding how these methods have and can be used.
The webinar will be of interest to researchers studying identity in and around organisations as well as researchers wishing to learn more about novel and innovative qualitative research methods. It will be equally relevant for experienced researchers and doctoral students, early career researchers and those who are new to using qualitative methods in identity research and beyond. It will be also useful for HR consultants, career advisers, coaches or other practitioners that seek performative methods to help develop people’s identities or solve their identity related conflicts.
